Abstract

The article introduces a modified Tunicate Swarm Algorithm (M-TSA) to enhance optimization performance in engineering problems. The original TSA, while effective in simple problems, struggles with complex engineering challenges. The M-TSA addresses this by incorporating a logarithmic spiral mechanism, Levy flight, and the Eddy effect to improve exploration and exploitation balance. The algorithm is tested on the CEC2017 benchmark and various real-world engineering problems, showing significant improvements over the original TSA and other techniques. The M-TSA demonstrates robustness and efficiency in solving multi-objective optimization problems, making it a valuable tool for engineering optimization.
