Abstract

The article discusses the significant impact of buildings on energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, emphasizing the potential for energy savings and sustainability. It introduces a multicriteria framework designed to evaluate energy audit software tailored for low-income households, addressing key aspects such as accuracy, simulation methods, flexibility, and sustainability. This framework aims to guide energy auditors and efficiency program administrators in selecting the most suitable software to optimize energy use and reduce costs for vulnerable households. The framework includes quantitative and qualitative criteria, providing a detailed scoring model to assess different energy audit tools. By focusing on the specific challenges faced by low-income families, this research contributes to the broader goal of achieving global net-zero emissions by 2050.
