Abstract

This chapter explores a cutting-edge approach to Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis by integrating multimodal data and small feature sets. The study focuses on four key areas: the importance of early AD detection, the use of multimodal data for diagnosis, the construction of small feature sets, and the development of a diagnostic model. Researchers utilized MRI, genetic markers (SNPs), and brain volume ratios (RGV) from the Alzheimer's Disease Neurological Impact Initiative (ADNI) dataset. By applying intergroup difference analysis, they identified significant variations in brain regions and genetic markers among AD, MCI, and NC groups. The diagnostic model, incorporating a multilayer perceptron (MLP), convolutional neural network (CNN), and attention mechanisms, achieved an impressive accuracy of 96.14%. This method not only enhances diagnostic accuracy but also reduces computational costs and improves model interpretability. The findings highlight crucial brain regions and genetic markers, offering new perspectives for early AD detection and treatment.
