Abstract

The study introduces a groundbreaking method for wood species identification using multiple spectral techniques, including NIR, hyperspectral imaging, and THz spectroscopy. By fusing these complementary data sources, the research significantly enhances the accuracy and reliability of wood species classification. The authors employ advanced feature selection methods based on machine learning algorithms to optimize the selection of key spectral features, reducing noise and improving model precision. Additionally, data augmentation techniques are used to mitigate overfitting and enhance clustering stability. The results show that the proposed approach outperforms traditional methods, offering new avenues for non-destructive wood detection in the forestry and materials science industries.
