Abstract

This chapter delves into the development of an advanced IoT platform for precision farming, emphasizing green computational intelligence, secure data transmission, and energy-efficient communication. The text explores four key optimization tools: compacting payload data, downsizing content, synchronizing IoT communication, and deploying lightweight encryption and watermarking. It also discusses the use of machine learning models, such as Decision Tree, Linear Regression, Random Forest, and XG-Boost, to predict environmental parameters like temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, and light intensity. The chapter highlights the importance of visual coding and watermarking for data integrity protection and the use of SPIHT coding for efficient data transmission. Additionally, it presents the results of various analyses and tests, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed solutions in optimizing payload size, communication time, and energy consumption. The conclusion underscores the potential of these technologies to revolutionize precision farming and contribute to a more sustainable and intelligent agricultural environment.
