Abstract

The article explores a novel approach for channel allocation in OFDM-based cognitive radio technology, addressing the growing demand for efficient spectrum usage. It delves into the challenges of inadequate frequency bandwidth and inefficient spectrum utilization, highlighting the potential of cognitive radio networks (CRNs) to dynamically allocate unused spectrum bands to secondary users. The study focuses on spectrum detection techniques and the critical role of artificial intelligence in optimizing decision-making processes within CRNs. It presents a comprehensive analysis of existing methods and introduces a new approach that combines AI techniques, such as fuzzy logic, artificial neural networks, and genetic algorithms, to enhance spectrum handover and reduce interference. The authors emphasize the need for accurate spectrum sensing and efficient channel allocation to prevent collisions between primary and secondary users. The article concludes by demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed method through simulations, showcasing improved detection probabilities and reduced error rates, making it a valuable resource for professionals seeking innovative solutions in wireless communications.
