Abstract

The article discusses the pressing issue of spam detection in text messages, particularly in the context of social networks and the increasing prevalence of smishing. It introduces a novel deep learning model-based optimization algorithm that integrates deep convolutional neural networks (DCNN) and long short-term memory (LSTM) models with a remora optimization algorithm (ROA). This approach aims to enhance detection accuracy and resource efficiency. The study compares the proposed method with established models such as SVM and naive Bayes, demonstrating its superior performance in various metrics including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. The article also highlights the potential of this method in addressing the evolving landscape of spam detection technologies, offering a robust solution for protecting users against malicious messages.
