Abstract

The article presents a novel G family of probability distributions called the generated geometric Weibull family, which combines the geometric and Weibull distributions. This new family is introduced to provide more flexibility in modeling real-life data sets. The article also discusses the application of this new family in quality control, particularly in acceptance sampling plans. It provides a detailed methodology for using the generated geometric Weibull family in single acceptance sampling plans, which is a crucial aspect of quality control in manufacturing. The article includes mathematical properties, moments, entropies, and moments of the residual life of the new distribution family. Additionally, it presents a case study to illustrate the practical application of the proposed sampling plan. The results show that the new family can effectively be used in quality control, making it a valuable resource for professionals in the field.
