Abstract

The article introduces a novel phasor-based adaptive single-phase auto-reclosing scheme designed to enhance the reliability and stability of high-voltage transmission lines equipped with shunt reactors. By leveraging the Karrenbauer phase mode transformation matrix, the method efficiently extracts fault characteristics from fault phase voltages, enabling accurate and swift identification of transient and permanent faults. The proposed scheme is particularly notable for its simplicity, speed, and low computational requirements, making it highly applicable in existing microcomputer protection devices without the need for additional hardware. The method's effectiveness is validated through theoretical analysis and simulation experiments, demonstrating its potential to revolutionize fault detection and reclosing strategies in power systems.
