Abstract

The article introduces a new path loss model called Log-Ray for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication, which combines the log-distance and two-ray models to better represent the unique characteristics of V2V communication environments. The study is based on extensive measurement campaigns conducted in highway and suburban environments, and it demonstrates that the Log-Ray model outperforms existing models in terms of fitting accuracy. The article also covers the modeling of small-scale fading and shadowing effects, and it concludes by highlighting the potential of the Log-Ray model for improving the design and performance of V2V communication systems. The proposed model promises to contribute significantly to the field of V2V channel modeling and could serve as a foundation for future research and development in this area.
