Abstract

The article delves into the application of Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) for producing high-strength Al-Cu alloys, highlighting the advantages of this process over traditional methods. It explores various WAAM processes, including non-consumable and consumable electrode-based methods, as well as hybrid processes that combine different welding techniques. The microstructure and defects of WAAMed Al-Cu alloys are discussed, with a focus on grain structures and second phases. The article also covers post-processing methods to enhance mechanical properties and minimize defects. Effective strategies for quality improvement are presented, making this a valuable resource for researchers and professionals in the field.
