Abstract

The chapter delves into the challenges of traditional agriculture and introduces vertical farming as a sustainable solution. It identifies key input variables and performance indicators (KPIs) for evaluating vertical farming systems, categorizing them into environmental, climatic, and nutritional factors. The experimental design of an aeroponic chamber is proposed, focusing on the variation of light intensity, temperature, and EC to gather data on productivity, quality, and sustainability. The chapter concludes with the importance of finding correlations between input variables and KPIs to optimize crop production.
