Abstract

The chapter examines the growing significance of e-mopeds as a sustainable and eco-friendly mode of transportation in urban areas. It highlights the need for a comprehensive understanding of e-moped dynamics in mixed traffic, particularly in the context of environmental sustainability and urban mobility. The study focuses on the development of a Level of Service (LOS) assessment system based on frequency adoption, a novel approach that addresses the unique challenges posed by e-mopeds. The research delves into the impact of e-mopeds on traffic flow, safety, and user experience, providing insights into how policymakers and urban planners can optimize infrastructure and services to accommodate this emerging mode of transportation. The chapter also explores the global trends in e-moped adoption, comparing different regions and their approaches to integrating e-mopeds into existing transportation systems. It underscores the importance of considering user demographics, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks in developing effective policies for e-moped integration. The study concludes with a detailed analysis of the LOS assessment methodology, offering a framework that can be applied to various urban settings to enhance the quality of service for e-moped users.
