Abstract

The article introduces a cutting-edge traffic flow forecasting method based on hybrid spatial–temporal gated convolution. It addresses the challenges posed by the increasing urban population and the need for more accurate traffic predictions. The method integrates spatial and temporal attention mechanisms with gated convolution to capture complex traffic patterns over extended periods. The proposed HSTGCNN model demonstrates superior performance in both short-term and long-term forecasting tasks, as validated through extensive experiments on real-world datasets. The article also highlights the limitations of current models and suggests future research directions, making it a valuable resource for professionals in the field of transportation and data science.
