Abstract

The article addresses the critical need for decarbonizing urban transportation systems, with a particular focus on the role of electric vehicles (EVs) and battery swapping stations (BSS). It introduces a two-stage layout model for BSS networks based on urban road networks, leveraging Social Network Analysis (SNA) to optimize station placement. The model considers various factors such as urban development planning, demand distribution, and behavioral influences. The case study within Beijing's Fourth Ring Road demonstrates the model's effectiveness in meeting EV battery swapping demands while optimizing cost and service coverage. The innovative application of SNA in BSS siting and the comprehensive consideration of multiple objectives make this article a valuable resource for urban planners and transportation engineers.
