Abstract

The article explores the transformative potential of the quantum internet, focusing on the critical role of quantum entanglement networks in enhancing security and efficiency in information transmission and processing. It addresses the technological limitations that hinder the development of the quantum internet, such as low rates of entanglement generation, limited quantum memory, and quantum decoherence. The paper introduces a two-stage Q-learning routing approach designed to overcome these challenges by improving routing decisions in quantum entanglement networks. This method is evaluated through comprehensive experiments that demonstrate its superiority in maintaining high-fidelity routes and achieving superior request success rates under various network conditions. The article also provides a detailed analysis of different entanglement swapping and purification strategies, highlighting their benefits and drawbacks. Furthermore, it compares the proposed method with four established routing strategies, showcasing its robustness and effectiveness in simulated scenarios. The article concludes with suggestions for future research directions, including the integration of adaptive learning mechanisms and strategies to minimize resource consumption in quantum networks.
