Abstract

The chapter introduces the Unified Privacy and Permission Management Framework (UPPMF), a novel approach to help users better understand and control their privacy settings. It addresses key issues such as users' lack of comprehension of privacy policies and the complexity of current permission models. The framework draws on Gibson’s Affordance Theory and GDPR principles to ensure user-friendly and legally compliant privacy management. By focusing on visibility, transparency, and user empowerment, UPPMF aims to bridge the gap between privacy concerns and effective control over personal data. The framework is designed to be intuitive and adaptable, making it a valuable tool for enhancing user trust and satisfaction in digital privacy management.
