Abstract

The article introduces a innovative wood sponge sensor designed to detect and adsorb heavy metal ions in wastewater, addressing a significant environmental challenge. The sensor is created by grafting β-cyclodextrin and carbon quantum dots onto a wood sponge, enhancing its fluorescence detection capabilities and adsorption efficiency. The study explores the sensor's structure, bonding, and adsorption kinetics, demonstrating its potential to effectively manage heavy metal pollution in industrial wastewater.
