Abstract

The chapter delves into the biomechanics of the Achilles tendon, focusing on the load it experiences during squatting positions. It discusses the tendon's structure, mechanical properties, and common injuries such as tendinopathy. A novel method for estimating tendon load is introduced, using a biomechanical model and advanced measurement systems. The study compares the load between squatting on full feet and toes, finding that full foot squats pose a greater risk of tendon damage. The chapter concludes with practical implications for injury prevention and the limitations of the method used.
