Abstract

The article discusses the synthesis of a terpolymer, AA-AMPS-HPA, through RAFT polymerization for use as an antiscalant in water treatment systems. The polymer, characterized by its unique blend of functional groups, demonstrates effective inhibition of calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, and calcium phosphate. The study highlights the controlled polymerization method, thermal stability, and morphological changes in crystals under the influence of the polymer. The research also underscores the potential of this material to operate under high ion concentrations and elevated temperatures, making it a promising solution for industrial water treatment applications.
