Abstract

The chapter explores the use of a seven-level asymmetrical MLI in grid-tied PV systems, emphasizing the advantages of reduced switching frequency and improved power quality. It delves into the application of level-shifted PWM and model predictive control techniques for active and reactive power control, comparing their performance through simulation results. The study also addresses the challenges of power quality and proposes a model predictive control method to enhance power injection and maintain unity power factor. The chapter concludes with a discussion on the dynamic performance of the proposed control algorithm under varying load conditions, making it a valuable resource for professionals seeking to optimize PV system performance.
