Evonik has developed two photopolymers for industrial 3-D printing applications and is launching them under the brand names Infinam TI 3100 L and ST 6100 L. The impact strength value measured for the TI 3100 L polymer on printed components is 30 J/m³ with a high elongation at break of 120 %. This means that the new material can withstand strong impact or permanent mechanical stresses such as pressing or impact, and is suitable for applications in automotive components requiring not only design-free shapes but also strong mechanical stresses in product use. With a tensile strength of 89 MPa, a flexural stress of 145 MPa and a heat deflection temperature of 120 °C, the ST 6100 L polymer is a material for applications that require high temperature resistance combined with very high mechanical strength according to the company.
