Abstract

The paper introduces a novel method for order reduction in linear time-invariant systems, combining the Mihailov stability method and Routh stability criterion. This hybrid approach ensures the stability and accuracy of reduced-order models, which are essential for designing lag/lead compensators and PID controllers. The method is tested on various real-time systems, demonstrating its effectiveness in reducing computational complexity while maintaining the essential qualitative aspects of the original models. The article also includes a detailed controller design algorithm and case studies that validate the proposed approach. This research is particularly valuable for professionals seeking to optimize control systems in large-scale, real-time applications.
