Abstract

The article discusses the advancements in sensing technology through the application of two-dimensional (2D) materials. It begins by introducing the escalating reliance on sensors in various applications, such as environmental monitoring, biomedical, safety protection, and industrial controls. The unique properties of 2D materials, including their high electron mobility, expansive specific surface area, and tunable bandgaps, make them ideal for sensing applications. The article explores the synthesis and characterization of 2D materials, highlighting methods like mechanical exfoliation, liquid-phase exfoliation, and chemical vapor deposition. It also discusses the integration of 2D materials into sensors, including chemical, biosensors, and optical sensors, and their superior performance compared to traditional materials. The article concludes with a summary of the future directions and potential of 2D materials in sensing technology.
