Abstract

The article delves into the alloying and modification of iron-carbon melts using both natural and man-made materials. It highlights the importance of advanced technologies in enhancing steel quality and efficiency in modern steel production. The study focuses on microalloying and modification methods that involve chemically active metals like rare-earth metals and alkaline-earth metals. The research includes thermodynamic modeling using software like Terra to determine the optimal conditions for reducing alloying elements from oxide raw materials. Practical techniques such as direct alloying with manganese ores and using converter vanadium slag are also discussed. The article emphasizes the economic benefits and environmental considerations of these methods, aiming to reduce material losses and improve the overall efficiency of steel production.
