Abstract
I remember my past shopping experiences in the USA very well because of the one key service that Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus offered. They provide their customers with a personal sales representative on request. The sales coach reads every wish from my lips, intuitively knows which brand I might like, which trends I follow, and which colour combinations suit me and which I would not keep in my closet. The personal assistant shortens our walking distances and unnecessary waiting times in the store and online, ensures a smooth process from selection, reservation and invoicing to the delivery of the chosen collection to your home. In my understanding, our expectations of mobile experiences will be increasingly shaped by experiences such as those described above. Picturing the mobile assistant like the coach in the store, what’s the job and service profile of such a mobile assistant? To what extent may they influence our selection processes? As part of my trend scouting tour, I discovered the ENTOURAGE [1] project.
