Abstract

This article introduces a groundbreaking methodology for solving fixed charge fuzzy transshipment problems (FCFTsP) using asymmetric pentagonal fuzzy numbers (APFNs). The study delves into the theoretical development of fuzzy transshipment problems, highlighting the importance of incorporating fixed charges and uncertainties in logistics and supply chain management. The methodology provides a systematic approach to approximating solutions, establishing both lower and upper bounds for the optimal value. Through illustrative examples, the article demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed approach in handling real-world scenarios. The study also explores the managerial implications of the methodology, emphasizing its potential to improve decision-making in resource allocation and cost planning. The article concludes by discussing the limitations of the current approach and outlines future research directions, including the extension to unbalanced and multi-objective FCFTsP.
