Abstract

This article delves into the synthesis and applications of Zr-CdFe2O4 nanoparticles, focusing on their role in electrochemical sensing of Pb2+ ions and photocatalytic dye degradation. The study begins with the synthesis of these nanoparticles using a green-assisted solution combustion process, highlighting the cost-effectiveness and sustainability of the method. Structural analysis through X-ray diffraction (XRD) reveals the crystalline nature and particle size of the nanoparticles, which are crucial for their enhanced properties. The article also explores the optical properties of the nanoparticles using UV-Visible spectroscopy, providing insights into their band gap energy and optical absorption. One of the key findings is the excellent photocatalytic performance of Zr-CdFe2O4 nanoparticles in degrading Rose Bengal dye under sunlight irradiation, achieving a degradation efficiency of 87.5% within 60 minutes. The study also investigates the electrochemical sensing capabilities of these nanoparticles, demonstrating their ability to detect low concentrations of Pb2+ ions with high sensitivity. The article concludes by discussing the potential applications of Zr-CdFe2O4 nanoparticles in environmental remediation and sensing technologies, offering a promising avenue for addressing pollution and heavy metal detection.
