Abstract

The article introduces an efficient hybrid approach for high-gain DC–DC converters in hydropower plants, focusing on the conversion of AC power to DC using super-lift converters. The AOA-DDAO method is employed for optimization, enhancing both efficiency and adaptability. The proposed approach is particularly effective in improving voltage conversion characteristics and reducing power loss. The article also provides a comprehensive analysis of the hydro turbine governor system, synchronous machine, and DC–DC converters. The results demonstrate that the AOA-DDAO method achieves superior performance compared to existing methods, making it a promising solution for optimizing energy conversion in hydropower systems. The detailed simulations and analyses presented in the article highlight the practical benefits and effectiveness of the proposed approach.
