Abstract

The study examines the discourse on net zero in South Korean newspapers, utilizing topic modeling and sentiment analysis to identify key themes and sentiments. It reveals that the media coverage is closely linked to government policies and that different political orientations of newspapers influence how net zero is portrayed. The analysis uncovers 16 major topics, including green vehicles, renewable energy, and international cooperation, and shows that while most articles are neutral, political orientation significantly affects the sentiment of positive and negative articles. This research highlights the importance of understanding media influence on public opinion and the implementation of net zero policies.
