Abstract

The chapter introduces an enhanced method for diagnosing bolt-loosening faults in closed ring-type structures (CRTSs) by leveraging SOOS TFs and LTA. It begins by discussing the limitations of existing dynamic models in representing complex structures such as steel pipelines and frames. The novel method improves upon the nonlinear ring-type MDOF model, detailing how LTA affects TFs and defining new local nonlinear features and fault indicators. Experimental validation on a lab bolted satellite-like structure demonstrates the method's effectiveness, highlighting its superiority in accurately diagnosing faults compared to other methods.
