Abstract

The article introduces an integrated geospatial and statistical approach for flood hazard assessment in the Darab watershed, Fars province, Iran. It highlights the significant temporal and spatial variability of flood events and the need for systematic evaluation. The study uses seven key factors, including slope, NDVI, land cover, and rainfall, to assess flood hazards. The methodology combines GIS, remote sensing, and the Fuzzy-AHP model to map flood hazard zones and identify high-risk residential areas. The results are validated using ROC curves and spatial statistics, demonstrating the effectiveness of the integrated approach. This study contributes to flood management and planning by providing a reliable method for flood hazard assessment.
