Abstract

The article introduces an innovative fault location and section identification algorithm for three-terminal non-homogeneous transmission networks. Unlike previous methods, this algorithm is independent of line parameters, making it more robust and cost-effective. The authors propose a non-iterative approach that utilizes synchronized voltage and current data to estimate fault locations accurately. The algorithm is validated through simulations, demonstrating its effectiveness in identifying fault sections and locations even in complex network configurations. The article also addresses the challenges of charging current compensation, providing a comprehensive solution for accurate fault location estimation.
