Abstract

The article explores the use of wavelet packets for enhancing physical layer security in wireless networks by improving the correlation between channel measurements. It compares the performance of different wavelet families, including Daubechies, Symlet, and Coiflet, and evaluates their effectiveness in reducing bit disagreement rates and enhancing randomness. The study utilizes various metrics such as Spearman Rank Correlation Coefficient and NIST tests to validate the performance of the proposed scheme. The findings indicate that wavelet packets can significantly improve the efficiency of secret key generation, with Daubechies and Symlet wavelets outperforming Coiflet in most cases. The research highlights the potential of wavelet packets in simplifying the implementation of physical layer security schemes, making it a promising solution for wireless networks.
