Abstract

This chapter delves into the cyclic behavior of reinforced liquefied stabilized soil (LSS) cured outdoors, addressing critical aspects such as material properties, test methods, and the impact of curing conditions on soil stability. The study employs Consolidated-Undrained triaxial cyclic tests to investigate the behavior of LSS with fiber reinforcement under varying stress amplitudes. Key findings include the identification of a critical stress ratio (SR) range between 0.6 and 0.72 for outdoor-cured LSS, which is higher than that for indoor-cured LSS. The research highlights the elastic behavior at low stress levels and strain softening at high stress levels, attributing these observations to the cement-hydration process outdoors. The study also compares the cyclic behavior of outdoor-cured LSS with indoor-cured LSS, revealing significant differences in pore water pressure and axial strain. The conclusions drawn from this research provide valuable insights into the performance of reinforced LSS under seismic conditions, offering practical implications for enhancing soil stability and earthquake resistance in construction projects.
