Analysis and Determination of Friction in Hydroforming Process of Cross Tube

Abstract

In hydroforming process of cross tube significant influence has a friction between tool and workpiece related to a tool load, stability of forming process and success of obtaining final piece.
Although friction in hydroforming process is a lower intensity it affects the increase of process parameters and contact stresses, which results in greater tool load and decreasing its use span.
In this paper analysis of friction in hydroforming process of cross tube and determination of friction coefficient using experimental results and simulation with software simufact.forming is given.
