Analysis of Diagrid Building with Different Angles Integrated with Steel Shear Wall Subjected to Seismic Forces

It is now essential to design any construction earthquake resistant due to the quick rise in vertical development and rising frequency of earthquakes. Diagrids are a type of supporting framework used in buildings that are made of concrete or metal ribs that intersect diagonally. They are very effective at withstanding lateral forces like seismic, wind force etc. This study investigates the seismic performance of various angle diagrid structures using the finite element analysis software ETABS. The goal of the study is to find the ideal orientation of diagrids with steel shear walls by evaluating a 60-story steel skyscraper using linear static analysis. Diagrids are positioned at the following angles of 49, 67, 74, 78, 80, and 82 degrees. The study assesses how effectively steel shear walls and diagrids lessen the impact of earthquakes on tall buildings. The primary criteria of important parameters are maximum storey displacement, maximum storey drift, and maximum storey stiffness. In light of the rapid vertical development and seismic dangers, the study deals with the urgent demand for earthquake-resistant structures and compares several diagrid angles to determine the best configuration for seismic resistance. The findings of the study demonstrate that integrating diagrids to a conventional structure improves the seismic performance of the structure. After thorough analysis, it is concluded that the ideal angle for the placement of diagrids is between 67 and 78 degrees.
