Optimising the transient response constitutes a major goal in the development of turbocharged gasoline engines. Particularly, the simulation of transient phenomena is difficult using state-of-the-art simulation approaches which complicates concept evaluations in early development phases. Within the scope of the FVV project TC Dynamics at the RWTH Aachen University and the University of Stuttgart a simulation methodology was developed which allows for a more precise system performance prediction of turbocharged gasoline engines. …
