Analysis of the Petroleum Products Distribution Network Using AnyLogistix Computational Tool: A Case Study

This chapter delves into the analysis and optimization of the petroleum products distribution network in Anbar Governorate, Iraq, using the AnyLogistix computational tool. The study focuses on determining the optimal locations for distribution centers, considering customer locations, demand, and distances. It explores five different scenarios, each with varying numbers of distribution centers and service levels, to identify the most efficient and cost-effective distribution network. The analysis reveals that scenario S2, with three distribution centers, achieves the best balance between demand distribution and minimizing travel distances. The chapter also highlights the challenges faced by the Petroleum Products Distribution Company, including damage to infrastructure and security issues, and how strategic decisions can help overcome these obstacles. The results of this study provide valuable insights for improving the management of petroleum product distribution networks, emphasizing the importance of optimization and simulation in supply chain management.
