Abstract

The article delves into the interaction of water waves with multiple submerged semi-circular porous structures, highlighting their role in coastal defense and harbor protection. It discusses the advantages of submerged breakwaters and the significant impact of semi-circular structures in dissipating wave energy. The study employs the eigenfunction expansion method and multi-domain boundary element method to analyze wave trapping and scattering by these structures. The results show that semi-circular breakwaters can effectively reduce wave load on rigid walls and create tranquil zones near coasts. The research also reveals the importance of porous-effect parameters and structural radii in attenuating wave energy. The manuscript concludes that a system of four semi-circular breakwaters can significantly attenuate wave load, making it a valuable resource for coastal engineers and marine specialists.
