Analysis on Corrosion Sensitive Factors and Anti-corrosion Measures of Grade D Sucker Rods in Oil-Production Wells

Abstract

The corrosion behavior of D-class sucker rod in the production well of CO2 flooding in Xinjiang oilfield is investigated by using weight-loss methods and surface analysis technology. The main sensitive factor affecting the D-class sucker rod is determined and the novel safe service life model is established to predict the finite service life of D-class sucker rod. The results show that the temperature and Cl content is the main sensitive of the steel. D-class sucker rod must be replaced in time after 2 years to prevent the sucker rod from breaking. Three corrosion inhibitors suitable for D-class sucker rod are selected, which can extend the service life of D-class sucker rod to more than 30 years.
