Abstract
The paper presents the results of a numerical study of the operation of a twelve-storey cross-wall building of a torsionally flexible system, and a moderately irregular shape in terms of the effect of loads of a special combination, taking into account the seismic impact. As a result of a comparative analysis of numerical studies of the operation of cross-wall buildings and cross-wall structures of a moderately irregular shape, the plan shows that the latter have fairly good resistance to seismic impact compared to a building of a torsionally flexible system. Along with this, good resistance of the building of a moderately irregular shape was revealed in terms of both the seismic impact of the calculated value and the seismic impact of an increased value characterising the seismic impact during destructive earthquakes. In the paper, the choice of an earthquake-resistant version of the structural design of the building is accompanied by a feasibility study. Based on the results obtained in the numerical study of the performance of cross-wall buildings, recommendations are given which, taking into account the building design process, allow reducing the seismic effect on the building.
