Abstract

MXenes, a new class of 2D materials, have garnered significant attention for their exceptional properties, including high surface area, chemical stability, and thermal conductivity. This chapter delves into the application of MXenes in water purification, where they have shown promise in desalination, wastewater treatment, and water quality sensing. The chapter also explores the use of MXenes in CO2 capture and conversion, highlighting their potential to reduce energy requirements and contribute to sustainable solutions for the water sector.
