Abstract
The dream of self-driving vehicles was already explored in fiction not long after the development of the automobile itself in 1886. Nowadays many applications of autonomous driving have been put into practices while others are still in fast development. To help readers understand better the gradings of autonomous driving, its technical classification is also described in this chapter.
