Abstract

The chapter delves into the transformative potential of immersive technologies in indoor sports, addressing the growing need for more engaging and effective training environments. It begins by highlighting the benefits of sports for physical and mental health, emphasizing the increasing popularity of indoor fitness activities. The authors identify a significant opportunity to enhance the indoor sports experience, particularly for those who find it unstimulating or claustrophobic. The proposed solution aims to make indoor sports more enjoyable and to enhance athletes' performance through personalized training plans, shared recreational experiences, and sporting challenges. The chapter is structured to provide a thorough exploration of related work, the proposed solution's functional and architectural aspects, and a discussion of the results.
