In the case of the hydrogen internal combustion engine, the prevention of abnormal or uncontrolled combustion is currently the central development task, especially with regard to achieving high specific power densities. In this context, the homogeneity of the air-fuel mixture, the avoidance of hot zones in the combustion chamber, the appropriate design of the ignition system and adapted lubricating oil additives are the most promising development approaches. …
