Abstract

The article delves into the significant issue of soil salinization, which threatens agricultural productivity and ecosystem stability. It highlights the application of gradient boosting and metaheuristic algorithms to accurately predict soil electrical conductivity, a key indicator of soil salinity. The study focuses on the impact of runoff and temporal variations on soil properties in humid tropical regions, an area that has received limited research attention. By employing algorithms like CatBoost and HGBoost, and optimizing them with techniques such as Gray Wolf Optimization, the research aims to provide a robust predictive model for soil salinity. This approach not only enhances our understanding of soil salinity dynamics but also offers practical solutions for sustainable agricultural practices.
