Abstract

The global shift towards electric vehicles (EVs) necessitates the development of efficient charging infrastructure to support the increasing demand. This article delves into the performance assessment of EV charging stations integrated with Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) devices under deregulated environments. By employing advanced optimization techniques and load flow analysis, the study evaluates the impact of EV charging on the power grid, highlighting voltage stability issues and proposing strategies to minimize power losses. The integration of DERs and FACTS devices is explored as a means to enhance grid resilience and sustainability. The research also includes a detailed contingency analysis to identify and mitigate potential grid instabilities. The findings offer valuable insights for power system engineers and policymakers aiming to optimize EV charging infrastructure and ensure a stable and efficient power grid.
