Abstract

The article delves into the complex process of copper electrodeposition over graphene oxide, focusing on the nucleation and growth mechanisms. It employs mathematical models and chronoamperometry data to analyze the kinetics and thermodynamics of the process. The study reveals that the nucleation mechanism is a combination of 2D lattice incorporation and 3D diffusion-controlled nucleation, influenced by the presence of GO. The authors also discuss the discrepancies between theoretical models and microscopy observations, highlighting the challenges in correlating mathematical predictions with experimental results. The article offers valuable insights into optimizing the electrodeposition process to achieve desired morphological and electrochemical characteristics.
