Abstract
PHISHING Attacks and identity theft have become part of everyday life. This chapter tells the story of Audrey and Reto Gfeller, people like you and me who were the victims of a PHISHING attack in 2008. In July 2008, 206 cars and 35 other items worth almost CHF 2 million were acquired on their behalf on the Ricardo Online Platform. The Gfellers take us on their journey of disappointed and angry sellers, attacks on their house, lawyers, and ricardo.ch, who was unwilling to take responsibility and was very unhelpful in resolving and analyzing the case.
